MTU SOE Represents Department at PUiCON 2026 with Research on GPS Tracker

The School of Engineering, Manmohan Technical University (MTU) proudly participated in the Purbanchal University International Conference (PUiCON) 2026, held under the theme “Shaping the Himalayan Future: Pathways to Sustainability and Development.” Ayusha Adhikari, representing the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, presented the research paper titled “GPS Tracker with Call and SMS Alert,” which has been published as part of the conference proceedings. The School extends its sincere gratitude to the paper’s supervisor for continuous guidance and mentorship, and to Purbanchal University for successfully organizing the first international conference in Nepal, providing an excellent platform for research, learning, and academic exchange. MTU SOE Successfully Organizes 3-Day Seminar on Seismic Evaluation and Retrofitting

The School of Engineering, Manmohan Technical University (MTU), in collaboration with the Structural Engineers Association Nepal (SEANep), successfully organized a 3-day seminar on “Seismic Evaluation and Retrofitting of Unreinforced Masonry Buildings.” The seminar brought together engineers from academia, government ministries, industry, municipalities, consultancy firms, and individual practitioners. The sessions provided highly informative and practical knowledge-sharing on seismic evaluation, demand-capacity concepts, and various retrofitting measures. The School of Engineering extends its heartfelt gratitude to the key speaker, Dr. Jitendra Bothara, Director of Resipro International Engineer Limited, New Zealand, for his insightful contributions. We also thank Prof. Bhola Ghimire, Dean of Purbanchal University, Kaji Ram Karki, Campus Chief of IoE Purbanchal Campus, the President of Nepal Engineers Association, Koshi Pradesh, and all participants for making the seminar a resounding success. MTU Pioneers Higher Education Pathway for Engineering Diploma Graduates

Manmohan Technical University has taken a significant step toward advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nepal by introducing a new academic pathway for diploma graduates. In collaboration with Swisscontact, the University is launching Nepal’s first-ever B.Tech in Civil Engineering (NVQF Level 6)—a transformative program designed to enable engineering diploma graduates to seamlessly progress into higher education without starting from the beginning. This competency-based, industry-driven program is scheduled to commence in early 2026 and aims to bridge the long-standing gap between diploma-level and higher-level engineering education in Nepal. The agreement was formally signed by Sanjay Karki, Country Director of Swisscontact, and Dr. Rekha Shrestha, Dean of Manmohan Technical University, marking a milestone in collaborative efforts to strengthen Nepal’s education system. This initiative is part of the Nepal Vocational Qualifications System Project (NVQS-P), a bilateral program between the Government of Switzerland and the Government of Nepal. The project is implemented by Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training / National Skill Testing Board with technical assistance from Swisscontact. Through this initiative, Manmohan Technical University reaffirms its commitment to innovation in education, industry relevance, and creating inclusive pathways for technical graduates to achieve higher academic and professional success.
